Brother and Sister Killed in Hastings Rollover Accident

Teenage brother and sister were recently killed in a Nebraska car accident after being ejected from their vehicle. The fatal car crash occurred on Clay County Road 312 south of Clay Center southeast of Hastings. Officials say the 17 year old boy was behind the wheel on a gravel road when the vehicle rolled over. Both brother and sister were ejected from the car. They may not have been wearing a seat belt. The 15-year-old girl died at the scene, and the driver was pronounced dead on arrival at Mary Lanning Healthcare. Bellevue Man Killed in Crash

A 21-year-old woman was injured and her 44-year-old father was recently killed in a Sarpy County car accident. The fatal car crash occurred on 36th Street near Cedar Island Road in Sarpy County. Officials say the woman was driving a blue Chevrolet Cobalt when it spun out of control, crossed the centerline, and was struck by a southbound driving BMW. The driver sustained critical injuries and her father died at the scene. The 64-year-old driver of the BMW was hospitalized for observation. The crash remains under investigation, but recent snowfall may have contributed to the accident. Read the rest »

Five Omaha Teens Injured In Car Crash Near Interstate 680

Five local teenagers were injured–one critically–late last month, when the driver lost control of the 2005 Chevrolet Malibu they were riding in.

According to reports, the 19 year old driver suffered the worst injuries, including a puncture injury to both lungs and a head injury. Nebraska State Patrol believes the driver was driving northbound on Interstate 680 when he missed the eastbound exit for West Dodge Road. Rollover Accident Kills Nebraska Man

According to a report on, a 29 year old Norfolk man died when he lost control of his truck. The accident happened late last month on Nebraska Highway 32 in northeast Nebraska. The truck veered off the roadway into a ditch and rolled over several times. The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Head On Collision Kills Four Young Women Outside Of Omaha

The promising lives of four young women were lost last week in a head on collision outside of Omaha. According to the Lincoln Journal Star, all four women were 21 years of age. Three of them were current Creighton University students and the fourth was a former Creighton student.

The four young ladies were heading south on Route 77 in a small Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) when the driver swerved to avoid hitting a deer and veered into the oncoming northbound lane. They then collided, head on, with a larger SUV. The 60 year old driver of the other SUV survived and was transported via helicopter to a nearby hospital.  All drivers and passengers involved were wearing seat belts. Read the rest »

Dodge County Wrong Way Crash Kills Two, Injures One

Omaha Wrong Way Accident Nebraska’s highways can be dangerous. This was illustrated just last week when a man and his wife were killed and another man was seriously injured in a head on collision. According to a story on Omaha’s WOWT, the accident happened on Highway 30 in Dodge County when an SUV crossed over the center line into oncoming traffic and collided with a semi truck.Both vehicles immediately burst into flames. Two passing drivers managed to rescue the 53 year old truck driver from his cab. He was flown by helicopter to the Nebraska Medical Center. The driver of the SUV and his wife died at the scene.
