Last month, a nurse hired by Nebraska-based healthcare company TotalWellness was accused of using the same syringe for flu inoculations on 67 different employees of Otsuka Pharmaceutical in New Jersey. Who doesn’t enjoy greeting the New Year with a bang? Fireworks have been part of the American New Years tradition for a long time now. We’re used to hearing the loud crackles, pops, and bangs, and seeing the glorious colors explode in the night sky when the clock strikes 12. However, as vital as fireworks are to the festivities, they can also be dangerous and should be handled with great care.
According to the National Council on Fireworks Safety, fireworks generally undergo rigorous testing before they are sold to the American public. That means defective fireworks are few and far between, yet, thousands of fireworks-related injuries are recorded every year, many of which occur on New Years.
