Cullan & Cullan Wins $19.6 Million for Victim of Truck Crash with Spinal Cord Damage

Personal injury attorneys Joseph and Patrick Cullan from Cullan & Cullan, LLC recently found success in representing a Nebraska man who had suffered a partially severed spinal cord after being run off U.S Highway 75 by a concrete truck. Jury members awarded him $19.6 million in compensation to cope with his losses. As reported by Omaha.com, the 26-year-old victims will use the compensation to pay for past medical care and rehabilitation bills, future rehabilitation at the Lincoln-based Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other losses caused by the crash.

The accident occurred on October 31, 2012, when a concrete truck turned into the man's lane, forcing his pickup off the road, resulting in a crash. While the defendants (the truck driver and the concrete company) claimed that the victim caused the crash by trying to pass on the shoulder of the highway, the jury found that it was the big rig driver's negligence.

The man, who now has to use a wheelchair, is continuing to work on his rehabilitation, now with the aid of compensation from the at-fault parties.

Spinal cord injuries are serious matters. These devastating losses can cause paralysis and permanent loss of bodily functions. While some trauma can be healed with skilled medical care, many suffer permanent disabilities each year, often in accidents caused by reckless individuals or organizations.

If you or a loved one has suffered spinal cord damage in an accident caused by someone else's negligence, you have the right to seek compensation for your losses. The recovery process will be a challenge, but success in your case will give you the chance to heal to the best of your abilities.
