Woman Bitten At Omaha Dog Park
Dog parks are a great place for dogs and their owners to socialize and get some exercise. Unfortunately, some dogs and their owners don't play well with others.
This was illustrated at an Omaha dog park last month, when a stranger's dog bit a woman. Instead of offering aid to the injured woman, the owner took his dog and fled. Police were called and the woman was taken to the hospital for nerve and bone damage. Animal control officers from the Nebraska Humane Society are searching for the dog and its owner.
If the dog isn't found, the woman will have to undergo painful rabies injections.
If you have suffered a dog bite, that dog's owner can be held liable for any damages you suffer. These can include:
- Medical bills
- Pain and suffering
- Emotional trauma
- Lost wages if the injury forces you to miss work
- Permanent injury or disability
